About lindy

Lindy’s coaching career has been defined by a long list of achievements. Her riders have excelled in prestigious competitions like the CET Medal Finals, with Erica Reilly, Erica Lim, and Meg Coombs earning top victories.

Cathleen Calvert and Lindsay MacLean, who began their riding journeys with Lindy, went on to win team gold at the NAJYRC, with Calvert also claiming an individual gold on a horse Lindy helped develop.

Former students such as Tosca Kocken, Desiree Johnson, Debbie Garside, Chelsea Jones, and Morgan Thomas have gone on to build successful professional careers in the equestrian world.

Her expertise extends to horse development, with several horses she produced winning major titles, including Horse of the Year honors in the U.S.

Lindy’s passion for the sport began at the age of ten in Vancouver, where she quickly grew into a successful junior rider, winning the CHSA Medal and excelling in Hunter and Jumper divisions.

When Lindy was a teenager, a car accident did not allow her to continue her academic path, changing the course of her future. During that time, she discovered a natural talent for teaching and believes the experience enhanced her ability to break down complex concepts, making her a uniquely insightful and empathetic coach.

To formalize her expertise, Lindy traveled to England, where she earned her British Horse Society Assistant Instructor (BHSAI) certification—a rare qualification for Canadian coaches at the time. Her time in England exposed her to advanced equitation concepts that became the foundation of her coaching philosophy.

Today, Lindy continues to mentor aspiring and veteran professionals.  Her consultative coaching services emphasizes building strong, thoughtful partnerships between horse and rider, fostering both technical mastery and enduring confidence. Lindy remains deeply committed to helping riders and their horses achieve excellence, harmony, and success.
